Purpose

Aurora Suite Enterprise is committed to maintaining an accessible environment for persons with disabilities. We strive to ensure our policies, practices, and procedures regarding the provision of our services are consistent with the following principles:

  • Services are provided in a way that respects the dignity and independence of persons with disabilities;
  • Persons with disabilities can benefit from the same services and in a similar way as other users;
  • Persons with disabilities have equal opportunities to obtain, use, and benefit from Aurora Suite’s services.

Definitions

For the purposes of this policy:

  • Disability: Any degree of physical disability, including but not limited to conditions such as visual, hearing, or speech impairments.
  • Service Animal: An animal that accompanies a person with disabilities for reasons related to their disability.
  • Support Person: Another individual who accompanies a person with disabilities to assist with communication, mobility, personal care, or accessing services.

Application of Policy

This policy applies to services provided to the public by Aurora Suite Enterprise and to all visitors to our office locations.


Providing Goods and Services to Persons with Disabilities

We are dedicated to excellence in serving all users, including persons with disabilities, by:

  • Communicating with persons with disabilities in ways that consider their specific needs;
  • Allowing service animals and support persons to accompany individuals into our facilities;
  • Ensuring staff are trained to assist and accommodate users with disabilities.

Notice of Temporary Disruption

Aurora Suite will notify the public promptly of any planned or unexpected disruptions in facilities or services used by persons with disabilities. Notices will include information about the disruption, anticipated duration, and alternative services available.


Training for Staff

We will train our staff on the provision of services to persons with disabilities, including:

  • The importance of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act;
  • How to interact and communicate with persons with various disabilities;
  • How to assist individuals using assistive devices or service animals.
